No matter what phone manufacturers can do, we will always want our phone to be faster, better and personal. That’s a fact and many programmers try to capitalize on that. In the past we’ve seen a lot programs to adjust our phones in a more personal way: to change the ring tone if I am at work, play a sound to remind me a date, or that kind of things.

Last in that series is Mobots. But it’s a little bit different. With this program you can create a mobot, a helper to make your smartphone smarter. You can combine three types of blocks to make a mobot: events (yellow), conditions (green) and commands (blue). Events refer to actions or situations that can launch your mobot: the phone clock, an incoming call or your location. With green blocks we can establish certain conditions required to our mobot to work, for example, being at a certain place or using a specific profile. The blue commands are the core of the mobot, they tell it what to do: send a message, ring, vibrate, place a call or even post something on Twitter.

Mobots has also a social side, we can share and download our created mobots with other users. Even your mom can make her phone act the way she likes. The software is freeware beta versión and you don’t need to register in case you don’t want the social features. It works on Symbian S60 3rd edition phones like the Nokia N95 or E71.

Perhaps it sounds complicated but it’s rather simple. The only problem with Mobots is that we are just limited by our imagination. We can combine the blocks to adjust the behaviour of the phone to our daily life habits and routines, to have a more personal phone. You can get the software and read more about it at the Mobots site.
