Often times if your new to Symbian and other times you are not so new and you ask yourself this question, “I want to subscribe to some podcast but most of the time the podcast that I want to listen to is not part of the native directory, now what.” Well fortunately and thanks to Nokia for creating Nokia Podcast this process is not that bad, you just need to follow some relatively simple instructions and you’ll be listening to podcasts in no time.
Click the TWiNS logo to subsribe now
Follow these Steps
1. Launch the Nokia Podcast application located in your Media folder, if for some weird reason you don’t have it, then here is the latest official Nokia Podcast application sis file: here
2. Then you’ll see this screen
3. From here you can hit the options key and you’ll see these two screens
So now you can just put any url, so if you have not subscribe to any, then here is the url of Nokia Mobile Talk Podcast Channel
http://feeds2.feedburner.com/blip/iAxA
4. Once you enter the url you’ll see this screen
So now you can enjoy our podcast every week and also when I do a single podcast on any particular topic. But sometimes when you’re looking for podcast you come with a term called OPML which is nothing more than an xml file markup for outlines that gathers information, in this case podcast url information. My friend Gerry Moth from NokiaAddict also has some podcasts which are very cool and he’s also included NMT’s in that list via an OPML file. So lets teach you how to import those files into your beloved smartphones.
What’s the deal with OPML, well you can import more than one podcast at time in an outline format which is awesome. So here we go again
Follow these Steps to Import your Podcast OPML file
1. Download the OPML file, here is mine remember you’ll want to do a right click and save as and download it to your desktop or anywhere you want Nokia Mobile Talk’s OPML file download
2. Now connect your smartphone via usb and create a folder, the name is arbitrary, I call mine OPML Import. The folder has to be created in the main memory of the phone not the sd memory.
3. Drop your recently downloaded opml file to that folder and now we’re ready to go back to the Nokia Podcast application to this screen.
4. Hit the options key and select Import from OPML
5. Now go to your chosen destination where you saved the opml file
6. Select the file, as you can see I have mine and Nokia Addicts, remember I posted @gerrymoth podcast opml file above.
7. Now you can select the file and you’re done
8. Now just choose the subsription and you’re done
