This tutorial came from an email from a fan and I thought I’d share it with everyone, sometimes we know a lot about our phones and other times we miss little details and with these instructions your Nokia Messaging experience should be a delight.

As promised, I list here the settings to check on the Nokia E71 in order to have Email 1 notification on the Home Screen.

In case you used Nokia Messaging, you only have to set:

Menu – Tools – Settings – General – Personalisation – Home screen – Mode settings – Home screen applications – Enabled applications – Intellisync:

Check box and press OK

For all other configured email look at:

Menu – Tools – Settings – General – Personalisation – Home screen – Mode settings – Home screen applications – Enabled applications – Email 1 notification:

Check box and press OK

Menu – Tools – Settings – General – Personalisation – Home screen – Mode settings – Home screen applications –Email 1 notification – Mailbox:

Choose preferred email (e.g. Mail for Exchange or @Home, in my case)

Menu – Tools – Settings – General – Personalisation – Home screen – Mode settings – Home screen applications –Email 1 notification – Preview:

- Header only

- Header and popup

- Header and unread

Allso check:

Menu – Tools – Settings – General – Personalisation – One  touch keys – Message key – Short press: default

Menu – Tools – Settings – General – Personalisation – One  touch keys – Message key – Long press: default

Menu – Tools – Settings – General – Email key setttings:

Choose preferred option (these are my options):

- Default

- @Home

- MfE

- E-mail
