What is the next feature do you want to see in Wordmobi ?

Here are the options the preliminary options he’s listed so far.

1) better camera support when taking photos
2) access point persistence
3) upload to flickr
4) multiple twitter accounts (one twitter account per blog)
5) Summary in statistics dialog (number of posts, number of comments, number of new comments and so on)

I’ve already posted my recommendations and someone suggested that Wordmobi gets a Pixelpipe integration, what do you all think ?

WordMobi’s developer Marcelo Barros

Marcelo Barros, is from Brazil and these are his exact words

Hello and welcome to NokiaMobileTalk Marcelo, its great having you here.

Tell us a little bit about your background and what lead you to start developing Symbian applications

I am an electrical engineer that spent a long time to decide if I wanted to become a university professor or a R&D engineer. While this decision was not taken, I got masters and doctorate degrees and worked for two years developing products for industry automation. At the end of this period, I decided to continue as R&D engineer, an exciting career with many opportunities to create. However, even being a C programmer for a long time (standard language for embedded systems), I never did any application for Symbian phones until 2008. In fact, I have been learning Python in the last two years and when I saw how Python is powerful for Nokia phones, I decided to learn Python for S60 and put together two passions: smartphones and Python. By the way, In my life I like to use the strategy “learn by projects” and Wordmobi was this project.

Can you explain how you use your own application for our readers? Any favorite practices?

I need to admit: I have create Wordmobi for my own use and several features that you see on it just reflects my preferences. Of course I have learning with my users and some features came from their requests. In special, I like to support multiple accounts. It is essential for me (I have three blogs to keep…). I think the persistence is other essential feature, it implements the “Keeping blogging” phrase since you can write anywhere and publish when connection is available. Finally, I love the twitter support and comments approving.

How much time did it take to develop your application, as far as coding the actual application and what programming language was used.

Wordmobi is developed using Python and first drafts started six months ago. Wordmobi had three big “restarts”, with a complete new code since the begining of the year. As I program only at nights and weekends, it is difficult to me to say the amount of efforts I have put in Wordmobi. In my opinion, it is about a month.

What are your favorite Symbian applications? Can you list your top 5

Just five ? hum….

Opera Mini
Gmail mobile
Wordmobi

Nimbuzz

Are you joining the Symbian Foundation? And What are your thoughts on the future of the Symbian Foundation.

No, as I am not a “official” mobile developer.

Well, thanks for joining us Marcelo, it was our pleasure, I really appreciate your candid responses and I wanted to also thank you formally for mentioning me on WordMobi’s official site as they say in your country muito obrigado

End

If you have not tried Wordmobi, you can download it here I promise this application will not disappoint

WordMobi uniting WordPress and Twitter

Well, its not offen that an application is developed that proves to be so useful for us blogger. If you use WordPress and Twitter and you’re an avid blogger then you need to get Wordmobi( here) to be totally mobile.

And now also with Twitter integration. Wordmobi currently supports one twitter account and multi-blog support, yes that’s right multi-blog support. Currently I’m handling 3 blogs via WordMobi with the current version 0.7.0 and a soon to be released version will have multi-twitter account support as well. I have spoken to Marcelo Barros, WordMobi’s developer, numerous times and he tells me that great features are coming, especially for you guys that like to style their blog post with a little pizazz, then you guys we’ll love the next release guaranteed. I particularly like the Twitter because one can publish a post and then tweet the blog title along with the post’s url and magically it appears in your timeline for everyone who is following you to see, a great feature indeed, and with the next release multi-twitter accounts will be a great asset to publicizing ones blog post. If you have not tried this application do follow the download link above and don’t forget its got a great price $0 what else can we ask of an already great application. So happy blogging and happy tweets everyone

Wordmobi is S60 client for wordpress written in Python for Nokia mobile phones, helping you to manage your blog while saving time and bandwidth. Common blog operations, like posting, approve comment, post delete, comments visualization . . .

Twitter Battles, let the competition begin

Its pretty cool that the s60 Twitter battles have begun, the community really needed this type of support from developers, a very special thanks to @janole, the creator of Gravity which is being released as an Open Beta application this coming Monday, I’m pumped for this release, I can’t remember the last time I had this type of anticipation for an application.

Today we also heard from the folks at mojosmobile.com that they’ll be releasing Twittix or Twitterix. On the python side of things we have Marcelo Barros with ” Iamdoing ” which is also another cool application currently being developed.
