Today I present you Rita El Khoury one of my favorite Symbian writers. Why do I like her ? because she is raw and blogs from the heart, she’s real and shares tons of accumulated knowledge. She not only is a great blogger but also happens to be pharmacist, can you believe that, yes in the medical field. I remember reading a post which really struck a chord in me, its called “Diary of a True Mobile Powerhouse” which I highly recommend to anyone but especially newcomers to Symbian. Rita is well known throughout the Symbian community and as you may know she writes for the Symbian-Guru.com alongside Ricky Cadden and also at Fonearena.com and of course she has her own personal blog over at The Dotsisx Blog.com so as you can see, Rita is all over the blogosphere but she does not spread herself thin she is a top notch Mobile Journalist and for those that don’t know she was even interviewed by the Wall Street Journal . Perhaps you know who FCA00000 is or maybe you don’t. In short, he’s the man who broke Symbian Security Platform and NMT brings you this exclusive interview.
Going back in time, he was a very active developer that created a lot of useful system patches for the Siemens SX1. That mobile phone was very popular, it was running a Symbian 6.1 system and some people tweaked and hacked it to get the most out of it. FCA00000, was one of them. Read more
Defend London it’s a Symbian game that recreates the WWII Battle for England. The player can use Spitfires, anti-aircraft guns, jeeps and even play as a commando or fight on the German side.
Defend London shows real iconic buildings of the city in 3D, and is made with advanced features, like the use of Open GL, atmospheric effects and hardware acceleration on phones like the Nokia’s N93, N95, N82 or E90. You can fight against a friend via bluetooth and in some levels the control is made through the accelerometer, just moving the phone. One of the more interesting features is the pseudo-multitouch on the Nokia 5800, a tactile phone not supposed to be multitouch. We’ve been talking with his creator about this feature and other things.
