How to update your Facebook status via Gravity

Gravity and Facebook is a match made in heaven. So the question now becomes, “How can we update our Facebook Status via our beloved Gravity ?” Its easy, first setup another Twitter account ie. Lastname + facebook, so my new twitter account is called ledesmafacebook, I guess you can really call it whatever you want but I like to add the Facebook part. Then go to iconspedia.com and search for a cool Facebook icon to add to the web Twitter account as your avatar, here is my Gravity main screen as an example.

Then goto Facebook and add the Twitter application, give it all the permissions it asks of you and put in your new twitter username account. Why create a separate Twitter ? Simple, so you don’t have to not mix your Twitter updates with your Facebook status updates.

If you want to consolidate your Twitter and Facebook updates then input your main Twitter username to the Facebook twitter application and everytime you update your Twitter then it will automatically update your Facebook as well. I personally don’t really like that, but its an option and can work for some folks who don’t really update all that much.

The second method is to use your new Twitter account which you can quickly add thru Gravity and really have the best of both worlds. Now if Gravity supported Ping.fm or Hellotxt I guess we would be total heaven, so until then, this is a very nice, smooth, and functional alternative. So go ahead and give it a try, it may work for you as well as it works for me.
